What a surprise when we woke up - we could actually still see the mountains around the city and (though we didn't say the words) the sun.
We wandered into town and did a bit of a repeat tour with brighter skies. Everything looked more cheerful despite chilling winds and the flea market being shut.
We went back to Hallgrimskirkja and this time we went up the tower to see the views. Some of the city even looks like a Danish model village!
We also did a repeat visit to the lovely cafe for coffee and cake.
When we had had enough, we went back to the hotel for a brief siesta - then down to the beach for a bit of combing.
The middle picture shows the fisherman's catch being hung to dry. Still windy, but lovely shells and pebbles / rocks.
After tea we had final confirmation of the Northern Light trip - let's hope the sky stays clear for a good view; we have no time to go again!
