New York, New York, New York!!!

Well, here is another installment from the City that never sleeps!! Part of the offer with the tour bus package was a free 2 hour cruise to see the Statue of Liberty. It was very surreal seeing in "real life" a statue that is so familiar all around the world. Wind was cold so the hat was welcome.

Another exciting event was the St Patrick's Day parade. It was so good that I stood and watched for 3 hours. Could get very political here as we find the whole thing a bit weird - but best keep my lips sealed. All I can say is - look at the pictures and see what percentage of the parade actually are "Irish"!! Never seen so many fat policemen and so many gorgeous firemen in uniform!

Here is Rachel with a pretzel in Central park. Hot, soft and yummy.

Central Park itself is lovely. It would be great to see it in each season to compare. In spring, the flowers had started and the views were improved by the lack of leaves on the trees.

One of the follies in the park is Belvedere Castle and it is absolutely delightful and more lovely views from the top.

We went up the Empire State at night to see the lights. It took us ages to queue up and actually get to the top. But it was worth it as looking at the lights was great. We took so many pictures as it was so fascinating.

In the daytime, we went and sat in Times Square for lunch where we were approached to be interviewed for a magazine - but we were not American so they didn't want us!!

So here is Times Square and The Broadway!!
